Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2025
At UUID.tools, your privacy is our top priority. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

No personal data required. We do not ask for, store, or require any personal information such as names, emails, or passwords to use our services.

All UUID and GUID generation is performed locally in your browser. Generated UUIDs are never transmitted to our servers.

Server logs: Our web servers automatically log standard information such as your IP address, browser type, referring/exit pages, and timestamps for security and analytics. These logs are deleted after a prefixed retained period of days.

2. Cookies & Local Storage

UUID.tools does not use cookies for tracking, advertising, or personalization purposes.

Some features may use browser local storage to remember preferences or settings. This data remains entirely on your device and is not accessible by us or third parties.

3. Analytics

We may use privacy-friendly analytics tools (such as Plausible, Fathom, or a privacy-centric configuration of Google Analytics) to understand aggregate website usage. These tools do not collect or store personal identifiers. All data is anonymized and used only to improve our services.

4. Advertising and Third-Party Services

UUID.tools may display ads via third-party networks (e.g., Google AdSense). These partners may use cookies or device identifiers to display relevant ads and measure performance. You can learn more and opt-out via your browser’s privacy settings.

We carefully select partners who comply with major privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, ePrivacy Directive).

5. Data Security & Retention

We implement industry-standard security to safeguard server infrastructure and access. Server logs are retained for up to 14 days for security and diagnostic purposes, then automatically deleted.

Analytics data (if used) is stored for a maximum of 14 months.

6. International Data Transfers

As a global service, information may be processed or stored on servers in multiple jurisdictions. We take all reasonable measures to comply with applicable data protection laws.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to request access to any information we hold about you, or to request correction or deletion (though we typically store none).

If you have any privacy concerns, contact us at our Imprint page.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as needed. The latest version will always be available on this page. Significant changes will be noted at the top of this policy.

9. Contact

For questions or concerns, please visit the Imprint page for contact details.
